About HBC
Heywood Baptist Church (HBC) is a community of people of all ages from a wide variety of backgrounds. Together we are discovering how to follow the example and teaching of Jesus in our 21st century world. This means being connected to God, to one another and to our community and wider world with genuine love, faith, integrity and commitment.
We know it’s next to impossible to live this kind of life without the encouragement of others and so we meet together to celebrate God’s goodness, to discover more about authentic Christian living and to pray about things that really matter in life.
On Sundays, we hold our main meeting at the church. During the week, we meet in a number of small groups around the area. It’s in these smaller groups that we really get to know one another and discover the strength of journeying through life with friends who pray for us, support us and challenge us to live out our faith every day.
We believe the church also exists to serve the wider community and to be good news for society as a whole. That’s why we run a range of other activities in the church and hire out the building to a number of other organisations that benefit the community, as well as maintaining ongoing partnerships, as a church and as individual members, with charitable organisations locally and overseas.
